Admission Requirements

Applicants complete the following requirements to be considered for admission.

Applicants must earn a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university recognized by the US Department of Education.

All official transcripts, including coursework currently in progress, must be submitted through PTCAS as part of the application verification process (PTCAS available, beginning mid-June).

ACHE PT does not have a minimum cumulative GPA requirement. Applicants are reviewed through a holistic admission process, taking into consideration all factors indicating an applicant is a fit for the ACHE PT mission.

Two Letters of Reference submitted via the PTCAS application process.

Note: Letters of reference can come from faculty in previous higher-ed experience, physical therapists, employers, etc. At least one letter from a physical therapist is preferred. Substitutions can be taken on a case-by-case basis.

Optional, but strongly preferred: Submission of Computer-Based Assessment for Sampling Personal Characteristics (CASPer®), a situational judgement test; CASPer® available beginning April/May.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or hold a permanent residency card. ACHE does not accept international students.

Pre-Requisite Courses

Complete all prerequisite coursework.*

These basic requirements must be taken for credit and passed at a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting body that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. All prerequisite coursework must be completed within 10 years of application. All course prerequisites must have a grade of C or better. Grades of pass are acceptable.

Application Process

Step 1: Submit PTCAS Application

The official PTCAS application is available online at ptcas.org. THE PTCAS APPLICATION CYCLE OPENS JUNE 17, 2024! The PTCAS application deadline for ACHE PT applicants for the May 2025 start date is April 1, 2025.

Step 2: Interview

After ACHE PT receives all materials, the applicant’s file is reviewed to determine eligibility for an interview based on the established criteria of the ACHE PT Admissions Committee. If the application is found to be competitive, an invitation to interview may be extended.

Step 3: Admission Decision

ACHE PT operates on a rolling admission basis and begins offering seats after the first interview date. Generally, you will receive your decision approximately 2 weeks from your interview.
